Climate Action Response

We recognize the importance of environmental sustainability and its impact on the future. Our climate action programs focus on tree planting initiatives, aimed at combating deforestation and promoting a greener environment.

We engage with local widows groups to raise awareness about climate change and encourage sustainable practices that protect our natural resources.

Our Programs

Food security

At Come Together Widows and Orphans Organization (CTWOO), we recognize that food security is a fundamental pillar of well-being and empowerment for widows and their families.

Our programs focus on enhancing access to nutritious food through sustainable agricultural practices, community gardens, and capacity-building initiatives. By equipping widows with skills in modern farming techniques, value addition, and agribusiness, we aim to not only combat hunger but also foster economic independence. CTWOO is committed to creating a future where every widow can provide for her family with dignity, ensuring no one is left behind in the fight against food insecurity.

Our Programs

Emergency Relief

In times of natural disasters and other crises, we are committed to providing immediate and effective relief to affected widows and orphans.

Our humanitarian efforts include distributing food, clean water, clothing, and medical supplies to those in need. We also offer temporary shelter and assistance with rebuilding efforts, helping communities recover and rebuild their lives

We work tirelessly to ensure that aid reaches the most vulnerable individuals during critical times. Beyond immediate relief, we focus on long-term recovery and resilience-building. We work with affected communities to develop sustainable solutions that address the root causes of vulnerability.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Awareness

CTWOO is committed to eradicating Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), a harmful practice that violates the dignity and health of women and girls.

We work to create awareness about the physical, emotional, and psychological consequences of FGM while advocating for its elimination at the community and national levels. Through education and partnerships with like-minded organizations, we support survivors in accessing medical care, counseling, and empowerment programs, helping them reclaim their lives and build a brighter future. Additionally, we introduce widows to financial inclusion and empowerment, equipping them with the tools and skills needed to thrive economically.

Our Programs

Family Planning

Understanding the unique challenges widows face, CTWOO promotes family planning as a critical aspect of empowering widows and their children.

We provide information and resources to help widows make informed decisions about reproductive health, enabling them to take control of their lives and safeguard their families’ futures. Family planning focuses on widows of reproductive age who are fertile and sexually active. This initiative was introduced in response to increasing reports of widow and teenage daughter deaths related to unsafe abortions. By addressing these challenges, we aim to protect the health and well-being of widows and their families, empowering them to live fuller, safer lives.

Covid -19 Response

When the pandemic was declared to reached Kenya, the Government of Kenya undertook stringent measures that involved curfews and travel restrictions. As at 16th of December 2020, most of the reported Covid 19 associated death were men. Covid 19 become a widow’s making machine. May businesses (Both formal and informal) were closed and jobs were lost. Many widows could no longer feed their families because their sources of income were cut short. They could not afford to purchase protective masks. Consequently, we were inclined to rely on our partners for the survival of our widows.
