We celebrated Post International Widows Day in Kilifi County, Ganze Sub-County Hosted by Hopes and Dreams Widows/ers group affiliated to Come Together Widows and Orphans Organization and which is under the stewardship of Ms. Prudence Kai together with a host of leaders from the National Government Ministry of Public Service & Special Programmes and elected leaders and those seeking for elective posts.

It was so fulfilling to have our Chief Administrative Secretary Hon Linah Kilimo as our Chief Guest. She delivered the message of our Cabinet Secretary who is so passionate and committed in Making Widows Matter in Kenya.

The incoming Governor H.E Gideon Maitha Mung’aro was present together with His Deputy @Hon Florence and they committed to Making Widows Matter in Kilifi County, we asked them to be the Biblical Joseph of this time in Kilifi County when they get into the leadership of the county they should not forget the widows. They should create an environment that is favourable for them and Economic Empowerment opportunities that will always enable them to do business and become Independent. Governor Mung’aro gifted Widows with food items & also office furniture for Hope and Dreams CBO which is championing for the rights of Widows/ers in Kilifi County under the Stewardship of Prudence Kai.

Hon Mbeyu Kilifi County Woman Representative expressed her commitment in Making Widows Matter in Kilifi and Kenya as a whole especially through legislation. She Marked this important day by giving several sewing machines to Hope and Dreams CBO this will help the widows in training for Tailoring & Design and acquire skills to start their businesses. The Widows can still make school uniforms and also other clothes and get an income.

The area Member of Parliament Hon Teddy Mwambire was also present and his amazing work through CDF kitty did not go unmentioned. Glad to have known that Widows Matter to Him.

We received a warm reception in Kilifi County County Commissioners office and also Vitengeni Division DCC office where we were received by DCC Tanui & ACC Nderitu respectively.
