
The Visit To Munyaka Area, Kapsoya Ward, Ainabkoi Constituency, Uasin Gishu County
On 3rd October 2020 we visited widows from Cylus, Munyaka Mwitirithia, Bahati, Kimumu, Kapsoya areas in Ainabkoi Constituency, Uasin Gishu County that was hosted by Pentagon Self Help Group. The venue of the event was New Testament Church.
We as Cometogether Widows and Orphans Organization (CTWOO) team arrived at the venue at 11:20AM. We were received by the Chairperson Pentagon Self-Help Group Mr Luka Maina and the Vice Chairperson Pastor Tabitha who ushered us in the New Testament Church where the widows had already gathered.
After settling Pastor Tabitha invited the guest pastor, Reverend Patrick Simiyu from Patsim Advisory Networks, to open the meeting with a word of prayer and a sermon. The pastor encouraged the widows and urged them to never undermine themselves due to their status. He went ahead and identified himself as one of them and one who understands their plight as he is a son of a widower. He concluded by emphasizing on the importance of economic and social stability among widows. Then the Pentagon Self-help Group Officials presented to him a gift as an appreciation of his good work.
Pastor Tabitha then took over and explained that the main theme of the event was a luncheon of Pentagon Self-help Group meant to launch the group officially. She then recognized the presence of the area MCA Mr Isaac Kirwa, area Chief Mr. Sang Tunene, area leader of Kikuyu Council of elders Mr Kaguru Ndung’u and Madam Dianah Kamande founder Cometogether Widows and Orphans Organization (CTWOO). After she invited the chief Mr. Sang Tunene to say a word as well welcome the MCA Kapsoya ward Mr. Isaac Kirwa officially to address the members present.
