Widows Sensitization Seminar – Embu County

Widows Sensitization Seminar – Embu County

In Embu County, Runyenjes Constituency on 22nd July 2022 CTWOO held an Economic & Legal Empowerment Seminar for widows. The Widows were sensitized on the Affirmative Action Funds. As we celebrate one year of Thamini Mjane Special Loan Product for Widows of Kenya, the best way was to create more awareness of the Special Loan Product by Women Enterprise Fund

Present was Chairperson Commission on Administrative Justice, Ombudsman Kenya Hon Florence Kajuju who reminded the widows on the mandate of the CAJ. The mandate of the Ombudsman Kenya office was also Elaborated by the officials who accompanied the Chairperson from the Nairobi office & Embu County Huduma Centre. Our members learnt that the Ombudsman Kenya deals with;

  • All forms of maladministration
  • Promote good governance and efficient service delivery in the public sector by enforcing the right to fair administrative action.
  • To investigate abuse of power
  • To manifest injustice and unlawful, oppressive, unfair or unresponsive official conduct.

Office of the Ombudsman is an independent commission established by the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011 pursuant to Article 59 (4) of the Constitution of Kenya.

This event was successful because of the Exemplary Leadership of Grace M’chandis Mrs Rutere among other Self Help Groups Chairpersons. Present also was the Area Sub-Chief, Bishop, Several Aspirants and Fellow Widow Leader from Nairobi County, God is Able Organization Pastor Pauline Muthusi who shared a lot with the Widows and promised to support them to become a strong widow’s movement in Embu County.
