In Ndaragwa Constituency, Nyandarua County widows had a wonderful seminar. They  were glad to be trained by the officers from Ombudsman Kenya Nyandarua County office. They will be forever grateful to Hon Florence Kajuju the Commission on Administrative Justice Chairperson who has always been in the front line in Making Widows Matter. The widows were so happy to know that there is a place on matters they have that are related on Administrative Justice.

Together with the widows Come Together Widows and Orphans team also had the pleasure of being enlightened about the Government Semi-Autonomous Agencies that are custodians of the Affirmative Funds. They were trained by The Uwezo Fund. The Uwezo Fund officer Madam Stella, Ndaragwa Constituency Officer and later joined by officers from Uwezo Fund Nairobi (Headquarters) The widows were encouraged to apply for these interest free loans.

The participants also received training from Women Enterprise Fund on Thamini Loan which is a special loan product for Widows. Thamini Loan Product specifically tailored for Widows is one of the great legacies of our Cabinet Secretary Prof. Margaret Kobia, PhD, EGH . Thamini will help Widows Start or Grow Widows existing businesses because it is Widows Friendly.

The widows were encouraged to be in registered groups to be able to apply this Widow’s Friendly loan product.

The partcipants also finally had an opportunity to hear from leaders who visited the Widows and it was so encouraging to see the great number of women who are seeking for political offices.
