We have a Mentorship Program for 50 girls who are in Primary School, High School and Colleges and Universities under our Program Shaping Future, Changing Destinies. The main reasons for starting this class was the pain and hardships that girls in Mathare Constituency, Kiamaiko Ward have to go through to get to the top. Very few have always made it beyond Primary School and High School. Our Widows Chairperson in Mathare Constituency Veronica Ngecu has been in the front line in ensuring that these girls are mentored and taken care of. She handles the challenges they go through day in day out. “I am immensely thankful for your mentorship and the positive impact you have had on my life. Your wisdom is a treasure. Thank you for being such an inspiring and dedicated mentor. Your guidance has shaped my journey in ways I never imagined, I love being in school and I have bigger dreams than before”~Najma (a mentee) We look forward to having more mentorship classes. Our Widow Leaders will continue mentoring the girls with the help of our daughters and sons who have managed to overcome challenges of life and Prioritized Education. We will be introducing the Boys Mentorship Program in 2025 in the spirit of Leave No One Behind because these are our sons and they must be curved and shaped well at this stage. We thank our Mentors yesterday all Widow Leaders, Praise Nyokabi University Student and an amazing recent graduate from Pwani University Marie. Thank you Muthoni Mwangi the founder of Truth Talk for partnering with us , Thank you UNFPA and individuals who made this successful “Mentoring is not about making people like you, but about helping them become the best version of themselves.”
