CTWOO firmly emphasizes restoring the physical, mental, and bodily well-being of widows and survivors of trauma.

Bereavement in many communities unfortunately opens the door to severe violations of a woman’s bodily integrity. When a husband dies, a widow is often subjected to physical assault, sexual abuse under the guise of “cultural cleansing” rituals, or forced marriage to an in-law.
Immediate Protection & Extraction: Our GBV response team operates rapid-response rescue initiatives. When a widow’s physical safety is compromised, we step in immediately to remove her and her children from the hostile environment.
Legal and Medical Coordination: Rescue is just the first step. We immediately connect survivors to emergency medical care to treat injuries, provide Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) where necessary, and systematically document forensic evidence to build airtight legal cases against the perpetrators through our legal network.
To directly bridge the gap between health literacy and actual medical access, CTWOO organizes free, periodic community medical camps. These camps bring high-quality healthcare directly to the doorsteps of widows and vulnerable community members who otherwise could not afford it.
Targeted Screenings and Treatments: Our medical camps provide free consultations, diagnostic screenings for conditions like cervical and breast cancer, hypertension, and diabetes, as well as the dispensing of essential medications.
Volunteer Medical Networks: We partner with healthcare professionals, local hospitals, and medical volunteers to offer specialized services, including eye checks, dental care, and general check-ups. By catching chronic or acute illnesses early, these camps prevent medical emergencies that could otherwise financially devastate a widow’s household.

Poverty and marginalization often push healthcare to the bottom of a widow’s priority list, leading to preventable illnesses going undetected until they are life-threatening.
Preventative Education: We conduct regular educational outreach programs that equip women with vital information on reproductive health, maternal care, nutrition, hygiene, and the prevention of infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis.
Navigating the Healthcare System: Many marginalized women find formal medical institutions intimidating or financially inaccessible. Our literacy programs demystify healthcare services, educating widows on their right to healthcare, how to utilize community health funds, and how to effectively navigate public medical facilities to advocate for their families’ health.
Grief is heavy, but grief compounded by social isolation, property disputes, and fear of survival can completely shatter a woman’s mental health. CTWOO treats mental health not as a luxury, but as a fundamental pillar of human dignity.
Trauma-Informed Care: We offer professional counseling and psychological first aid to help women process the acute shock of loss and the subsequent trauma of cultural or economic violence.
Safe Spaces & Support Groups: We establish and facilitate localized widow support groups. These safe platforms allow women to come together without judgment to articulate their grievances, share coping mechanisms, and realize they are not alone.
Reclaiming Self-Worth: Through consistent group therapy, emotional validation, and peer solidarity, widows slowly break free from the depression and anxiety caused by stigma. We watch them transform from broken survivors back into confident, self-reliant women who recognize their inherent value and possess the mental fortitude to lead their families forward.
